The course

This is the Spanish Royal Federation's training headquarters, and it plays like one — every hole engineered to test a specific skill rather than to flatter the visiting amateur. The practice complex is the most serious in Spain: full short-game area, technology-equipped teaching bays, a putting green the size of a fairway. National team players grew up grinding here, and you can feel it underfoot.

When to play

Madrid's continental climate means a long playable year with two clear peaks: April through mid-June and mid-September through November. Avoid July-August midday rounds; the meseta heat is brutal. Federation-event weeks block the calendar periodically — check before you book.

Green fee & value

Public-access pricing on a course that punches well above its green fee. For serious amateurs preparing for tournaments, the practice facility alone justifies the trip. Twilight value is genuine here, especially through autumn when low sun makes the parkland glow.

Access & etiquette

Handicap certificate generally requested. Dress code is enforced — this is a federation venue, not a resort — collared shirt, no jeans, no denim shorts. Booking is mandatory and fills early during national team training blocks.

Getting there

Fifteen minutes by car from Barajas airport (MAD), twenty from central Madrid via the A-1. No direct public transport; rent a car or pre-book a taxi. The location pairs naturally with a northern Madrid base around Alcobendas or Las Tablas — close enough for early tee times without battling rush-hour traffic into the city centre.
