The course

Font del Llop sits in the Alicante interior near Aspe, set into the dry hill country where citrus and olive give way to almond groves and the kind of pine-and-scrub landscape that makes the Costa Blanca interior visually distinct from the coast. The course was opened in the late 2000s and the routing reflects modern design priorities — wide fairways, strategic bunkering that punishes the brave more than the cautious, and large undulating greens that test putting more than approach play. The driving range and short-game area are notably well-developed for a course of this tier, and the conditioning has improved meaningfully across recent seasons.

When to play

Costa Blanca interior calendar: October through May is the comfort peak, February through April peaks for visitor traffic, summer rounds before 10:00 only with the inland heat dominating afternoons. The course's relative youth (compared to the older Costa Blanca clubs) means the routing and turf are still maturing; conditioning has improved meaningfully across the past few seasons. Winter rounds are reliably playable, with the inland setting recovering faster than coastal courses after the rare rainfall.

Green fee & value

Mid-tier Costa Blanca pricing with genuine value — comparable to Alenda and the other Alicante interior courses, well below the coastal premium courses. Stay-and-play through partner accommodation in the Aspe / Monforte del Cid corridor offers meaningful multi-round value. Twilight rates work particularly well during the long shoulder-season evenings when low sun makes the inland landscape glow.

Access & etiquette

Casual handicap policy — visitors of all levels welcome. Standard Spanish dress code applies (collared shirt, no denim, soft spikes). Booking is advised at weekends; weekday afternoons in shoulder season walk on without difficulty. The pro shop and clubhouse facilities are modern and well-maintained.

Getting there

Thirty minutes by car from Alicante airport (ALC) via the A-31 inland motorway then the Aspe turnoff. Central Alicante is thirty-five minutes east, Elche twenty minutes east. The course works naturally as the inland anchor for a multi-day Costa Blanca itinerary that combines interior golf with coastal accommodation — pair with the <a href="https://playascerca.com/en/region/comunitat-valenciana/" rel="noopener">Playa de San Juan or the Playa del Postiguet beaches</a> for the off-course days. Elche's UNESCO-listed Palmeral palm grove is twenty minutes east for a non-golf afternoon worth the side trip.
