What to expect

The course

Pepe Gancedo's design at La Finca near Algorfa is one of the most thoughtful inland-Alicante layouts of the post-2000 resort-golf boom — water features that genuinely influence shot selection on at least six holes, elevated greens that demand a confident wedge, and a routing that weaves through lagoons rather than around them. The course has hosted European Tour qualifying events, and the back nine in particular reads with the kind of rhythmic build that suggests the architect knew exactly where the round needed to peak. Polished, modern, and unembarrassed about it.

When to play

The Costa Blanca calendar runs long. October through May is comfortable; February through April peaks with the European amateur winter migration. Summer plays from early-morning rounds before 10:00, after which the inland heat at Algorfa dominates. Conditioning is consistently high year-round given the lagoon irrigation network. Late shoulder season (October and March) offers the visual peak — the orange and lemon groves around the resort fruit heavily.

Green fee & value

Premium Costa Blanca pricing — well above the local public-tier courses but justified by the conditioning, the lagoon design, and the resort amenities. Multi-round packages through the on-site La Finca Resort accommodation are the obvious value play and meaningfully trim the per-round cost. Twilight slots are worth the patience in shoulder season.

Access & etiquette

Handicap certificate (28 men, 36 women) typically requested at the pro shop. Dress code is firmly resort-tier: collared shirt, tailored shorts or trousers, soft spikes mandatory. Booking is essential; the international visitor traffic fills the tee sheet well in advance during European winter. Buggies recommended given the routing distances.

Getting there

Thirty-five minutes by car from Alicante airport (ALC) via the AP-7, twenty-five from Murcia-Corvera (RMU). The course sits in the dense southern-Alicante resort-golf belt — La Peraleja, Lo Romero, and Las Colinas are all within thirty minutes, making this a natural anchor for a multi-course Costa Blanca week. The coastline is twenty minutes east; pair the round with Guardamar's dunes or the Torrevieja salt-lake beaches for the canonical southern-Costa-Blanca companion day.
