The course

Golf Las Américas occupies the volcanic ridge above the Playa de las Américas resort strip on southern Tenerife — sloping fairways that genuinely use the topography, raised tees with full-width Atlantic views, and greens cut to a resort-tier standard appropriate for the heavy international visitor traffic. The design works with the volcanic-soil constraints rather than against them, the conditioning is consistently good given the year-round play volume, and the routing reaches its visual peak on the back-nine holes that face the Atlantic directly. A reliable resort round on an island where weather rarely interrupts.

When to play

The Canary Islands play essentially year-round — Tenerife's southern coast averages 22°C in midwinter and 28°C in midsummer, with no real off-season. November through April peaks for European winter golfers; July-August has the highest visitor traffic from the southern-European market. Trade winds influence afternoon rounds more than temperature — mornings tend to be calmer. Conditioning is steady across the year given the irrigation infrastructure.

Green fee & value

Premium Canary pricing reflecting the location and the year-round demand — well above the mainland public-tier equivalents but justified by the conditioning and the climate guarantee. Multi-round packages with the surrounding Tenerife coastal resorts are the obvious value play. Twilight slots in shoulder months offer real savings.

Access & etiquette

Welcoming handicap policy — visitors of reasonable standards play without serious scrutiny. Dress code is resort-tier: collared shirt, tailored shorts or trousers, soft spikes mandatory. Booking essential year-round given the visitor density. Buggies recommended for the volcanic ridge gradients.

Getting there

Twenty-five minutes by car from Tenerife South airport (TFS) via the TF-1 motorway, five minutes from the Playa de las Américas resort strip. The course is one of three within a fifteen-minute Tenerife-south radius (Costa Adeje and Amarilla Golf are the others), making a multi-round island week genuinely effortless. The coastal half of the day belongs to <a href="https://playascerca.com/en/region/canarias/" rel="noopener">Playa de las Américas, Playa del Duque, and the Adeje coves</a> — all within ten minutes of the pro shop.
