The course

Son Parc is Menorca's only eighteen-hole golf course — a single layout on the island's northern coast near Es Mercadal, set into the Tramuntana scrub and pine landscape that makes Menorca itself feel structurally different from Mallorca or Ibiza. The routing is honest parkland with links-influenced wind exposure on the upper holes, and the conditioning has improved substantially since the most recent ownership restored the irrigation and the green complexes. This is not a championship-test course; it is a destination round, played as part of a Menorca holiday rather than as a golf-pilgrimage end in itself. The pace of play matches the island's pace generally — slowly, and on purpose.

When to play

Menorca's Mediterranean climate gives the course a long shoulder season — April through October is reliably playable, with May, June, and September the genuine sweet spots before and after the summer tourist peak. Winter is functional but quiet; the island itself slows substantially November through March. Summer afternoons can blow harder than mornings as the tramuntana wind picks up off the northern coast. Booking volume tracks the island's holiday calendar more than golf-specific demand.

Green fee & value

Mid-tier Balearic Islands pricing — meaningful value as the only full eighteen on the island, particularly during the summer holiday weeks when alternative golf simply does not exist within reasonable travel. Resort-package combinations through the Son Parc development are common and trim the per-round cost. Twilight rates work especially well during the long Mediterranean summer evenings.

Access & etiquette

Casual handicap policy — visitors of all levels welcome. Standard Spanish dress code without the country-club intensity (collared shirt is sufficient). Booking is sensible during summer holiday peaks; shoulder seasons walk on without difficulty. The clubhouse and pro shop are modest in scale but well-staffed, with notably helpful service for visiting players unfamiliar with the routing.

Getting there

Twenty-five minutes by car from Menorca airport (MAH) — the airport that handles all the island's seasonal European traffic. Maó (the island's capital) is twenty minutes south; Es Mercadal village is five minutes from the course access road. The northern Menorca coast is famous for its untouched cove beaches — pair the round with <a href="https://playascerca.com/en/region/illes-balears/" rel="noopener">Cala Pregonda, Cala Pilar, or the Camí de Cavalls coastal path beaches</a> for what is plausibly the most beautiful golf-and-beach day combination in the western Mediterranean.
