The course

Marina Golf sits between the white village of Mojácar and the Almería coast, and the routing reflects its geography — open fairways that catch the afternoon sea breeze, gently undulating greens, and a layout that prioritises rhythm over heroics. This is a course for posting a score, not for telling war stories. The conditioning is reliable, the welcome relaxed, and the surrounding desert landscape gives it a visual character entirely different from the green-and-blue Costa del Sol postcard.

When to play

Almería is the driest corner of mainland Spain — sun nearly year-round and very little rain disruption. October through May is the comfort peak. Summer is hot but the coastal breeze keeps morning rounds manageable through July. Winter rounds are reliably playable.

Green fee & value

One of the better-value courses on the Almería coast — pricing sits below the Costa del Sol equivalent for comparable quality. Stay-and-play through the local resorts and twilight slots both work well here.

Access & etiquette

Casual handicap policy — visitors of all levels welcome. Standard Spanish dress code. Booking advised in season; weekday afternoons usually open.

Getting there

Forty minutes from Almería airport (LEI), two hours from Murcia (RMU), two and a half from Alicante (ALC). The course is five minutes from the <a href="https://playascerca.com/en/region/andalucia/" rel="noopener">Playa de Mojácar and the white village hilltop</a> — pair the round with an afternoon in the old town and a sunset on the beach for the canonical Almería day.
